Provided is an air conditioner. The air conditioner according to one embodiment includes a case forming the appearance; a heat exchanger housed by the case; and a blow fan sucking air which is heat exchanged by the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger has an upper end portion positioned adjacent to the blow fan at an upper portion and having a first refrigerant pipe, and a lower end portion provided below the upper end portion and a second refrigerant pipe. The number of rows of pipelines constituting the first refrigerant pipe and the second refrigerant pipe is set so that the flow rate of a refrigerant flowing in the first refrigerant pipe is much than that of the refrigerant flowing in the second refrigerant pipe. The air conditioner according to the other embodiment includes a case forming the appearance; a heat exchanger housed by the case; and a blow fan sucking air which is heat exchanged by the heat exchanger. The number of rows of refrigerant pipes inserted into the heat exchangers is set so that the flow rate of the refrigerant flowing in the refrigerant pipe is much on the basis of the direction from the heat exchanger to the blow fan.
