Mixing element and mixing device for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine

The mixing element (1) has four blades (2) and a connecting section (3) which has two sides (4') and from which the blades are bent. The directly adjacent blades are bent to different sides of the connecting section with respect to a longitudinal axis (5) of the connecting section. The mixing element is formed with the connecting section and the blades as a sheet metal part. The mixing element is manufactured from a single continuous piece of sheet metal, particularly by deformation. An independent claim is included for a mixing device with a shell.
