PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starter 1 capable of preventing instantaneous operation stop of on-vehicle electric equipment occurring when a motor 3 is activated, and of suppressing electric noise generated from the motor 3.SOLUTION: The starter 1 includes; an electromagnetic relay 5 building-in a resistor 4 for suppressing rush current flowing when the motor 3 is activated; an electromagnetic switch 6 having a function of pushing out a pinion and a function of opening/closing a main contact; and a noise suppressing device 7 for suppressing electric noise. The electromagnetic relay 5 is arranged nearer to a battery 2 than the electromagnetic switch 6. The noise suppressing device 7 has at least one capacitor C accommodated in a resin-made package, one end of the capacitor C is connected to a motor terminal 11 of the electromagnetic relay 5 via a lead terminal, and the other end is electrically connected to an end frame of the motor 3 via an earth connection part. |
