A display device according to the embodiment of the present invention includes a spontaneous emission display panel; an image processing part which displays an image to the panel by processing an image signal; and a control part which performs a reset operation which removes the remnant electrons of the panel by discharging the panel with a predetermined period while an image is displayed and selectively performs one of a first reset operation and a second reset operation. The first reset operation discharges the entire panel according to the amount of information of the frame of the image which is displayed in the panel when the reset operation is performed. The second reset operation successively discharges each separation region with periodic unit by dividing the panel into several regions.
