<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding mechanism and a sliding control method which enable controlling, dynamically at low costs, a friction force between two mutually sliding surfaces at low costs.SOLUTION: A sliding mechanism comprises a metal flat plate 2 having a first sliding surface 21 coated with a resistance film 41 and formed on the upper surface 24, a metal cylinder 3 having a second sliding surface 31 coated with an insulation film 42 and formed on one end surface 33 opposite to the first sliding surface 21, an ion liquid 5 placed between the first sliding surface 21 and the second sliding surface 31, an electrode bar 61 connected electrically to the metal flat plate 2, an electrode brush 62 connected electrically to the metal cylinder 3, a DC current source 7 applying a voltage between the electrode brush 62 and the electrode bar 61 and a controller 9 controlling the DC current source 7. By utilizing the fact that, when a voltage is applied between the electrode brush 62 and the electrode bar 61, the friction force between the first and second sliding surfaces 21 and 31 increases, the friction between the first and second sliding surfaces 21 and 31 is controlled dynamically by on/off control of a switch 91 of the controller 9.</p> |
