<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-repellent pigment powder for cosmetic, having water-repellent properties and moist feeling in no way inferior to a conventional surface coating treatment pigment, and exhibiting smooth and no heavy feeling; and a cosmetic having excellent water proofness and giving light feeling and good slipping properties by admixing this water-repellent pigment powder for cosmetic.SOLUTION: A pigment powder for cosmetic is subjected to surface coating treatment with alkylalkoxysilane being represented by the general formula (1) and having a branched structure.
