The decontamination process of soil according to the present invention comprises heating a soil contaminated particularly with oil and oil products with concentration up to 500 gram per one kilogram of soil, to a temperature in the range of 90 to 400 degC at a pressure in the range of 5 to 100 kPa for a period of 2 to 10 hours. Vapors of the contamination substance are exhausted and burnt at a temperature ranging from 350 to 400 degC and a pressure in the range of 100 to 250 kPa on a catalyst. Apparatus for soil decontamination comprises a desorption device (1) provided with a mixing device (9) and a heating device (2). Outlet of the desorption device (1) is connected to the inlet of retention device (8) having its outlet connected to the inlet of a preheating device (7) having its outlet connected to an ejector (3) inlet provided with a nozzle with adjustable width of the aperture. Outlet of a blower (6) is connected to the inlet of the heating installation (5) having its outlet connected to another inlet of ejector (3). The ejector (3) outlet is connected to the inlet of a combustor (4) provided with a catalyst.
