<p>A personal rescue or escape chute comprises double walled chute sections 1, the sections are joined together to make a chute of the desired height along with a cooling water circulation pipe 4 with an outlet valve 3 at the bottom of the safety chute. The sections may have joints comprising of a countersunk joint assembly 9, rubber seal 10, lip flange and water joints 11. The joins may be fastened with nuts and bolts or may use wing nuts 7 clipped into brackets 8. Water is pumped up to an inlet valve 6, or an upper storage tank, which may also connect to the water mains and building water storage 14. The water travels through the cavity created by the double wall structure keeping the interior of the safety chute relatively cool, but if the water temperature in the safety chute rises above certain level then the warm water may be released out of the system. In case of power failure valve 2 can be opened on a slow drain out creating a water system whereby cold water will enter the system through the connection with the water mains or the building water storage.</p> |
