The present invention relates to a surface treatment method for magnesium or magnesium alloy including the following steps: allowing the surface of the magnesium or magnesium alloy to be subjected to plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) treatment to form a PEO coated layer on the surface of the magnesium or magnesium alloy; and allowing any one surface or the other surface of the magnesium or magnesium alloy on which the PEO coated layer is formed to be subjected to humidification and heat treatment to form a brucite crystal coated layer or a crystal coated layer with mixed crystals where the brucite and hydro magnesite are mixed on the surface of the magnesium or magnesium alloy. |
