A sealant composition comprising (a) 10 to 40 wt% of an acrylic polymer, such as a polymer prepared from 2-ethylhexyl acrylate and/or butyl acrylate or copolymer, such as styrene acrylic; (b) 20 to 65 wt% of a powdered filler, such as dolomite, calcium carbonate, limestone, marble, calcite, aluminium silicates, barites, titanium dioxide, talc, aluminium dioxide, magnesium hydroxide, silicates or mixtures thereof; and (c) 0.1 to 20 wt% of a hydrocarbon polymer, such as polyisobutene. The sealant composition may further comprise a surfactant, such as sodium salts of C10 to C16 alkyl sulfates, and a rheology modifier, such as synthetic clay. The sealant composition may be used in varied applications in the external and internal construction of buildings. |
