METHOD OF SUPPRESSING LIGHT EMISSION OF INK CARTRIDGE, CONTROL UNIT, SUBSTRATE, INK CARTRIDGE AND IMAGING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the misinformation rate of detecting a position of ink cartridge.SOLUTION: A control unit first receives and discriminates a light emission control command from the body of an imaging apparatus. When the emission control command is proved by the discrimination to be a lighting command, a lighting delay count is started. When the emission control command is proved by the discrimination to be a lights-out command, the light emission of an emitting unit on an ink cartridge is stopped. When the control unit detects the fact that the count number of the lighting delay count reaches a delay limit value, the emitting unit is caused to emit light. Taking the time interval in which the imaging apparatus is used in detection of a correct position of the ink cartridge waiting detection as the first time interval and the time interval in which the imaging apparatus is used in detection of adjacency light as the second time interval, the delay limit value is greater than the second time interval but smaller than the first time interval.
