PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a virtual image display device which guides image light from a display element to the eyes of a viewer using a light guide body and which is capable of reducing generation of an inappropriate light spot so-called ghost on retinas in the eyes of the viewer.SOLUTION: A virtual image display device includes a light guide body 103 which guides image light between an incident section 103 to which the image light enters and an exit section 103b from which the image light exits, and a first optical layer which is located inside the light guide body at an angle with a surface of the exit section and optically affects the image light being guided. The first optical layer is a laminated film comprising a first light absorbing layer, which absorbs a portion of the image light being guided, and a first semi-reflective layer 123b, which reflects at least a portion of the image light not absorbed by the first light absorption layer toward the exit section and transmits at least another portion of the image light, laminated together. |
