LIFE EXPECTANCY ESTIMATION METHOD FOR GREASE AND OPTICAL DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily diagnose the life expectancy of grease used for power substation and to obtain a high-reliability result without variance.SOLUTION: A life expectancy estimation method for grease includes: irradiating grease as a body to be measured with light for inspection; finding a reflection factor difference (A) from the reflection factor and wavelength of reflected light from the grease to be measured; determining a life expectancy threshold of the grease from the correlation between a previously measured reflection factor difference (B) of the grease and an oil separation degree; and estimating the life expectancy of the grease based upon the life expectancy threshold and the reflection factor difference (A) due to elapsed years between when the grease is diagnosed and when the grease is new or measured in the past.
