PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide alicyclic dicarboxylic acid diester, which is a novel ester-based lubricant base oil more excellent in hydrolytic stability than aliphatic dibasic acid diester or polyol ester which are conventional ester-based lubricant base oils.SOLUTION: An alicyclic dicarboxylic acid diester having a specific structure is used as an ester-based lubricant base oil.
