<p>This organic EL element is equipped with a first electrode, an organic layer containing a light-emitting layer, and a second electrode, provided in said order on a substrate, and is configured so as to extract light to the exterior from the first electrode side. The organic EL element is characterized by: being further equipped with a low refractive index layer and a metallic layer provided in said order on the opposite side of the second electrode to the organic layer; the second electrode comprising a transparent conductive material; the refractive index of the low refractive index layer being lower that the refractive index of the organic layer; the first electrode being provided with a plurality of first electrode holes; and the organic layer having a first electrode hole internal surface covering part that covers the internal surface of the first electrode holes, and a layer part arranged between the second electrode and the first electrode and first electrode hole internal surface covering part.</p> |
