PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire which enables improvement in uniformity when including carcass layers having a 1-1 structure, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: In a pneumatic radial tire, a plurality of carcass layers 4 including an inner carcass layer 4A and an outer carcass layer 4B are laid between a pair of bead parts 3 and 3. While the inner carcass layer 4A is wound up around a bead core from a tire inner side to a tire outer side, the end part of the outer carcass layer 4B is arranged on the outer side of the wound-up part of the inner carcass layer 4A. A coat compound used in the outer carcass layer 4B should have a tensile stress M2 of 0.30 MPa or more at an elongation of 100%.
