PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel initiator system which is especially suitable for anionic diene polymerization and which does not have disadvantages of the prior art, and which also permits the use of high polymerization temperatures to produce polybutadienes having high vinyl content.SOLUTION: An initiator system for anionic polymerization comprises (A) at least one organolithium compound, (B) at least one di(aminoalkyl) ether and (C) at least one sodium alkoxide and/or sodium phenoxide.
