PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder and a recording control method capable of performing satisfactory recording without reducing the recordable number of continuous images nor reducing a recording throughput even in the case of recording a pattern for preliminary ejection.SOLUTION: How long is a time when ink is not discharged is analyzed about each of a plurality of nozzles included in a full-line recording head between images that are continuously recorded from image data inputted from a host device. Whether preliminary ejection is necessary between recordings of a plurality of images is determined according to results of the analysis. When it is determined that the preliminary ejection is necessary, data for preliminary ejection is added to the image data, and recording data to be used by the full-line recording head is created. Then, the full-line recording head is controlled so as to discharge ink on the bassi of the created recording data. |
