<p>938,037. Sewage sludge. NORDAC Ltd. April 17, 1962 [Jan. 17, 1961], No. 1886/61. Classes 46 and 111. Sewage sludge is delivered to the upper burner compartment 1 by port 11 and is mixed with material circulating before it passes slowly through the hole 4 in the inverted truncated conical perforated baffle 3 to the lower compartment 2 with base 12 of similar shape to baffle 3. The hot gases from burner 5 give up almost all their heat to the sludge which is kept at about 65‹C. for the time of its passage through the lower compartment before its ultimate discharge as sterilised fertiliser from weir 15 via rising main 13.
