The handles 5 of a stretcher or hand truck are secured to the longitudinals 1 by means of a pair of spring blade packs 8, 9 which in the rest position shown may be held in tension by the abutments 12. The members 3 secured to the longitudinal 1 and the member 4 secured to the handle 5 are of U-section so that the spring packs are enclosed. A member 10 secured to the pack 8 ensures that twisting of the springs will not take place. An arrangement is described in which the upper spring pack is replaced by a link pivoted to the handle and the longitudinal. |
