Disclosed is a broadcast receiving device for providing a time shift function. The terminal device comprises: a receiving unit for receiving broadcast signals; a signal processing unit for processing broadcast signals and outputting broadcast data; a storage unit including a targeted recording area applied to a recording function and a minimum storage area applied to a time shift function; and a control unit for successively storing the broadcast data from the minimum storage area when the time shift function is performed and storing the broadcast data after additionally setting a recording area as a time shift area if the minimum storage area is filled.
