PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crucible that prevents an outflow of an oxide film to improve tensile strength and elongation properties of a molten casting article, and to provide a method for taking out a metal in a molten state. SOLUTION: The crucible 1a includes: a first occlusion member 5 provided to occlude at least a part of an opening end 4 and also to form a gap between an edge of the opening end 4 and the first occlusion member 5; and an outflow port 6a formed of the gap defined between the edge of the opening end 4 and the first occlusion member 5. The crucible 1a is tilted to outpour and take out a metal 7 stored in the crucible 1a in the molten state from the outflow port 6a, wherein the first occlusion member 5 prevents the oxide film 8 floating on a surface of the metal in the molten state from outflowing.
