[Also in Divisions B3 and H2] A self-threading screw, e.g. a terminal screw in a riveted eyelet 62 of an electrical terminal 60 (see Division H2), has a leading thread 20 of large pitch for forming an initial thread, e.g. in the eyelet 62, and a following thread 30 of small pitch for mutilating the initial thread so that the screw is then captive although movable between the limits of the finer thread 30. The screw may be cadmium-plated and has a recess 12a in its head underface for receiving a conductor wire. |
