The brake assembly has an electronic brake control unit (5) which is connected with a transmission control unit (13) of an automated gearbox through a communication bus (26). A detection unit is provided for detecting whether setting of a shift lever (27) of the transmission is at a parking position. The transmission control unit is provided with an output unit to output a command for securing parking brake device in association with recognized adjustment of shift lever on parking position, to the brake control unit through the communication bus.
