The apparatus includes at least one control system (2), at least one sensor (8, 10, 12) associated with the control system (2), at least one independently operable outlet (7, 9, 11) associated with the at least one sensor, and at least one source of substance (3) associated with the independently operable outlets (7, 9, 11). Each sensor (8, 10, 12) detects one or more conditions of a sample area proximate the sensor (8, 10, 12). The control system (2) is configured to allow for an operator selection between distributing or not distributing a substance or substances (16) via the independently operable outlet(s) (7, 9, 11) controlled by the control system (2) when the control system (2) determines:•the sample area proximate at least one sensor or group of sensors (8, 10, 12) as having one or more conditions which meet at least one predetermined condition parameter for that or those condition(s); or•the sample area proximate at least one sensor or group of sensors (8, 10, 12) as having one or more conditions which do not meet at least one predetermined condition parameter for that or those condition(s). |
