<p>Non-fibrous, flexible, cellulosic sheet material is coated on at least one side with an anchoring coating of less than 0,1 mil thickness of a C1-6 aliphatic peracid-oxidized polybutadiene resin having an epoxy content of at least 5% by weight. The coating may be applied from a solution which may also comprise from 7 to 12% of a curing agent and from 0,1 to 10% of an antiblocking agent. The coated sheet may be further coated with an organic polymer coating, e.g. vinylidene chloride copolymers containing at least 50% vinylidene chloride and at least one other monomer co-polymerizable therewith, e.g. acrylonitrile, vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate, acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, alkyl acrylates or alkyl methacrylates; polyalkylenes, e.g. polyethylene, polypropylene, and polyisobutylene; polyesters, e.g. polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylene isophthalate and polyethylene bibenzoate; other vinyl resins, e.g. polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl acetate and vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymers, P.V.A., nylon; and nitrocellulose. Specified cellulosic materials are regenerated cellulose and cellulose esters and ethers, e.g. carboxymethyl cellulose, carboxyethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, cellulose acetate and cellulose triacetate.</p> |
