摘要 The present invention relates to an apical meristem- and leaf primordium-specific promoter. Specifically, a KRP3 cell division regulating gene and a GUS reporter gene, which are actual genes of the promoter according to the present invention, are operatively linked to the promoter so that the KRP3 cell division regulating gene is expressed specifically to an apical meristem. The apical meristem-specific promoter according to the present invention can induce the expression of a target gene specifically to the apical meristem, and thus is useful for the development of transgenic plants capable of mass-producing high value added effective components. Further, according to the verification by a protein fusion expression vector, it can be seen that KRP3 is regulated through a proteolytic regulatory mechanism by 26S proteasom after transcription and endoreduplication is promoted in cells of a KRP3-overexpressing transformant. Particularly, the endoreduplication has been known to be involved in the control of cell size or the like, and thus the promotion of the endoreduplication by KRP3 can be utilized to control the sizes of plant individuals.
