The invention relates to a gripping device for workpieces or other parts to be manipulated, in which large gripping-diameter ranges are available without conversion for internal and external clamping of corrugated or cylindrical or polygonal parts (shafts, screws, bushes, sleeves, tubes, journals, bolts, sockets, bars or the like). The gripping device is not susceptible to dirt and permits simple manufacture of the gripping arms and gripping inserts (28 to 30; 31 to 33).
