PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant detection sensor in which accuracy (sensitivity) of a sensor member is maintained and the sensor member is prevented from being damaged, and a method for manufacturing the occupant detection sensor.SOLUTION: An occupant detection sensor 10 comprises at least a sensor member 11, a connector 14, a wiring member 16, and cover members F1 and F2. A connecting part 15 comprising the wiring member 16 and the cover members F1 and F2 is disposed along a front surface side of a vehicle seat 30, and comprises a stress absorbing part 12 for absorbing stress generated by bending. Even when the connecting part 15 is bent and the stress is generated, the generated stress is absorbed by bellows formation areas 12a and 12b (the stress absorbing part 12). Therefore, the stress generated by the bending does not affect the sensor member 11. As a result, accuracy (sensitivity) of the sensor member 11 can be maintained and the sensor member 11 can be prevented from being damaged. |
