The present invention provides a method for detecting the offset of a current sensor of a motor driven power steering (MDPS) motor capable of sensing the accurate current value of a current sensor by periodically updating the offset value of a current sensor of a motor for a vehicle MDPS system. To this end, the present invention includes: a first step where an ECU determines whether the non-rotating period of a three-phase motor of an MDPS system reaches a predefined period; and a second step where the ECU updates the offset value of current sensors installed in at least two phases if the non-rotating period of the three-phase motor reaches the predefined period.
