PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anion exchange resin capable of producing an electrolyte layer for a fuel battery, a binder for forming an electrode catalyst layer and a battery electrode catalyst layer having excellent durability, to provide an electrolyte layer for a fuel battery, a binder for forming an electrode catalyst layer and a battery electrode catalyst layer formed from the anion exchange resin, and further, to provide a fuel battery provided with the electrolyte layer for a fuel battery or the battery electrode catalyst layer.SOLUTION: A hydrophobic unit in which a bivalent hydrophobic group made of a plurality of aromatic rings mutually linked each other via a bivalent saturated hydrocarbon group and a bivalent linkable group made of an aromatic ring or a plurality of aromatic rings linked each other via carbon-carbon bond are repeated via ether linkage, and a hydrophilic unit in which a bivalent hydrophilic group made of a plurality of aromatic rings mutually linked each other via an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom and having an anion exchange group and a linkable group are repeated via ether linkage are linked via ether linkage.
