PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine that re-starts a sewing operation so as to prevent a seam from interrupting even when the sewing operation is interrupted due to the occurrence of a power failure.SOLUTION: When a power voltage of a sewing machine lowers below a predetermined voltage and a power failure occurs, a CPU of the sewing machine, during a sewing operation of the sewing machine (S30: YES), stores the sewing finishing information, stop position information and excitation information in a non-volatile memory (S55-S59) and stops the sewing process. When power is restored, the CPU re-starts the sewing operation that was stopped on the basis of the sewing finishing information. In this case, the CPU reproduces the stop position of a holding member and the excitation states of an X-axis motor and a Y-axis motor on the basis of the stop position information and the excitation information. Since the sewing machine can reproduce the moving accuracy of the holding member during stopping of sewing, when the sewing operation is re-started, it is not necessary to return the holding member to a reference position nor to cut off once an upper thread connecting a sewing needle and a sewing object. |
