PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To announce the inspection and maintenance work of an escalator to people with visual impairment and also to surely prevent the occurrence of an accident even when user approaches mistakenly to the doorway of the escalator under the inspection and maintenance work by any possibility.SOLUTION: The safeguard which is installed in the entrance of an escalator includes user detection means 20 and 22 which detect user's approach to the entrance and voice information means 25 and 26 which give an audio announcing that the escalator cannot be used due to inspection and maintenance work to the user, when the user's approach to the entrance is detected during the sopping time of the escalator. |
