PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for predicting a portion to be pulled and a tensile load to be applied thereto for separating a wire harness from a fixing object without fracturing.SOLUTION: A finite element model 10 of a wire harness is employed. The finite element model 10 includes a portion formed by bundling a plurality of single wires. A plurality of beams 20 are arranged to overlap a centerline of the wire harness. Each of the beams 20 has corresponding single-wire tensile characteristics and characteristics obtained by multiplying characteristics (flexural characteristics or the like) other than the corresponding single-wire tensile characteristic by a double wire multiplying factor &bgr;. A cross-section shell 30 is a disc shell having the same diameter as the wire harness, is rigidly connected to the beam 20, and has characteristics corresponding to compression characteristics of the wire harness. A tube shell 40 is connected to the cross section shell, and has frictional coefficient of the wire harness. A tape shell 50 is provided to join adjacent tube shells, and has frictional coefficient of the wire harness. |
