PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide mutants of the acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS) large subunit comprising at least two mutations, which are useful for producing transgenic or non-transgenic plants with improved levels of tolerance to imidazolinone herbicides and sulfonylurea herbicides, which are AHAS-inhibiting herbicides.SOLUTION: Provided are expression vectors, cells and plants which include polynucleotides encoding AHAS large subunit double and triple mutants, plants including two or more AHAS large subunit single mutant polypeptides, and methods of making and using them. |
