PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display system in which a pointer displayed on an image display device can be operated from a terminal device, the system being configured such that even when a display form for an image on the image display device is altered, the position of the pointer relative to a displayed image is prevented from being altered, and to provide a control method therefor.SOLUTION: An image display system 100 includes a main device 200 and an auxiliary device 300. In the mode for synchronizing the display images of the main device and auxiliary device, the main device displays a pointer at a position corresponding to the position touched by a user, received from the auxiliary device. According to the reception of an instruction to alter a display form for a displayed image, the main device generates and displays an image after the alternation, and also transmits the image after the alternation to the auxiliary device. The auxiliary device selectively performs the process of displaying the received image after the alteration or the process of transmitting information about the position touched by the user, to the main device. This makes it possible to prevent a pointer from being displayed at a position not intended by the user. |
