摘要 1,109,223. Batteries. SOCIETE DES ACCUMULATEURS FIXES ET DE TRACTION. 15 June, 1965 [16 June, 1964], No. 25331/65. Heading H1B. [Also in Division E2] A rod for use in clamping cells together to form a battery has a plurality of wedge-shaped recesses 1 which can accommodate cells of various sizes. The recesses 1 have angled side walls 3, 4, a top wall 2 and an end wall 5 against which the ends of assembled cells abut. The portions 6 separating the recesses have two holes 7 and 10 (not shown) formed therein, both of which are perpendicular to the length of the rod. A longitudinal groove and several transverse grooves, 15, 16, 17 and 18 are formed in the upper face of the rod. The grooves receive straps, and the holes bolts, by means of which a pair of rods may be secured together to clamp the cells between them. Two pairs of clamping rods are used at each end of the cells. The rods may be cut to size depending on the number of cells in a battery. The rods may be made of synthetic resin, e.g. polyethylene, or metal coated with synthetic resin.
