PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT apparatus capable of improving an image quality and contributing to reduction of exposure.SOLUTION: The X-ray CT apparatus according to one embodiment includes an X-ray tube including a negative electrode and a target, and a detector including a plurality of columns of X-ray detection elements aligned in a body axial direction of a subject that are disposed facing each other with a body axis of the subject defined as a center; rotates the X-ray tube and the detector about the body axis of the subject; causes electrons from the negative electrode to collide with the target; and detects, by a prescribed number of columns of the X-ray detection elements, X rays that are generated from the target and have a cone angle spreading in the body axial direction of the subject. Change means changes the angle of the target so as to change an effective focal size viewed from the detector corresponding to a designated cone angle. |
