PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of recognizing whether or not a cartridge to be inserted is adjustable in the vicinity of an insertion port, and reliably preventing incorrect insertion with a simple configuration without causing extention in a longitudinal direction of an image forming apparatus body.SOLUTION: Only when a second contact part 73b provided to a cartridge is brought into contact with a contact target part 15c provided to a movable member 15 of an image forming apparatus body, so as to move the movable member to a first retreat position Z1, a first contact part provided to the cartridge can be brought into contact with a second target contact part 15d provided to the movable member, so as to further move the movable member to a second retreat position Z2; and only when the movable member is moved to the second retreat position, the cartridge can be inserted into the image forming apparatus body. |
