The invention relates to a method for producing a light generation unit 1, according to which method: openings 31 for receiving electrically insulating heat dissipation bodies 20 of light-emitting diodes 2 are punched into a circuit board 3 having printed conductors 34 and centring holes for receiving centring pins are drilled; a metallic base 5 is structured by means of deep etching such that contact domes 51 for the heat dissipation bodies 20 of the light-emitting diodes 2 protrude at the positions of the openings 31 in the circuit board 3; the centring pins are mounted on the upper side of the metallic base 5; the circuit board 3 is pushed onto the metallic base 5 and the circuit board 3 is pressed together with the metallic base 5; and the contact surfaces on the heat dissipation bodies 20 of the light-emitting diodes 2 are soldered onto the contact domes 51.
