According to the present invention there is provided a wave energy power take off unit comprising a pair of parallel and coupled transducers and together adapted to convert both directions of the reciprocating linear motion into rotary motion in a single direction, preferably to drive an electrical generator in order to produce electricity, the invention further providing a wave energy harnessing device comprising a hollow buoyant member which in use floats on the surface of a body of water, the buoyant member being slideably mounted to a base located in use beneath the body of water, the buoyant member being constrained for reciprocating linear motion relative to the base, the harnessing device additionally comprising at least one of the wave energy power take off units. |
