In an aerosol producing apparatus, a tube extends forwardly of the discharge orifice and the tube is either fitted with a baffle or is dimensioned to produce the effect of a baffle on the free forward movement of the discharge jet. The baffle 10 in the tube 8 is of larger diameter than that of the aerosol jet impinging thereon and is of the same diameter as the aperture in the baffle 9. The tube 8 may be lengthened to between three and ten times its diameter and the baffles removed. The tube and orifice may be positioned perpendicularly to the container axis (Fig. 5). The tube 15, 16 is telescopic and the container 44 is detachable therefrom and stored therein when not in use. A cap 22 is rotatable and serves to uncover four holes in the end 18 of the tube 16 to allow air to mix with the aerosol jet. The pressurised liquid is filtered, passes through a swirl device and the length of the tube 15, 16 ensures that a vapour of liquid particles of uniform size and speed is discharged. |
