Disclosed is a dehumidifying apparatus having a structure of a heat exchanger for preventing a load to a compressor. The dehumidifying apparatus comprises a condenser to receive refrigerant from the compressor; an evaporator which evaporates refrigerant delivered from the condenser to deliver it to the compressor and which is arranged at the top or the bottom of the condenser; and a blowing unit for blowing external humid air to the condenser or the evaporator. The dehumidifying apparatus according to the present invention decreases the width of the apparatus by arranging the condenser and the evaporator of the heat exchanger in a vertical direction and reduces a space occupied by the apparatus.
