The present invention relates to a glove box including an upper cover formed with side walls at both sides and a top wall at upper portions of the side walls to have an opened front side; a box-shaped housing mounted to the upper cover to be able to slide back and forth, and having side surfaces opposite to the side wall and an opened upper portion; a rod mounted at the upper wall to be able to slide in a horizontal direction, and provided with a locker; and a switch mounted on the upper cover to press the rod to slide the rod. The side surface is formed with a fixing groove through which the lock moves in or out by the sliding movement of the rod, and the housing is opened or closed by the pressing of the switch. Since the rod opening or closing the housing is mounted on the upper cover, the front thickness of the housing can be decreased, and thus the inner space can be increased. Also, it is possible to prevent the noise, generated when the rod is slid, form coming in a cabin of the vehicle. |
