Disclosed is a power switching device that can ensure insulation performance, is reduced in weight, and can reduce costs. Said power switching device is provided with: a pressure tank (1) which has cylindrical openings (1b, 1c) in a body section (1a) and in which an insulating gas is sealed; a vacuum valve (5) which is contained inside the pressure tank and one end of which is connected to the pressure tank; bushing conductors (11a, 11b) that go through the openings (1b, 1c) in the pressure tank (1) and are electrically connected to the vacuum valve (5); and current transformers (9a, 9b) that are provided outside the pressure tank (1) and that measure currents running through the bushing conductors (11a, 11b). Cylindrical current-transformer installation sections (1d, 1e) in which the current transformers (9a, 9b) are installed are provided above the openings (1b, 1c) in the pressure tank (1). The outside diameter (L1) of the openings (1b, 1c) in the pressure tank (1) is larger than the outside diameter (L2) of the current-transformer installation sections (1d, 1e).
