PURPOSE: A protection device monitoring system of a distribution system and a method thereof are provided to reduce power failure by monitoring operation according to time and current property curves. CONSTITUTION: A protection device blocks a malfunction current. A distribution automation terminal device (300) for the protection device transmits a blocking signal to the protection device when the malfunction current is detected. A switch (200) separates a malfunction section from a distribution system. A distribution automation terminal device (400) for the switch controls the insertion of the switch. The distribution automation terminal device for the switch determines the normal operation of the protection device.
