PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CZTS-based compound thin-film solar cell excellent in photoelectric conversion efficiency by providing a buffer layer comprising a material suitable for CZTS-based solar cells.SOLUTION: A compound thin-film solar cell 1 comprises: a substrate 11; a lower electrode 12 provided on the substrate 11; a light absorbing layer 13 provided on the lower electrode 12; a buffer layer 14 provided on the light absorbing layer 13; and a transparent electrode 15 provided on the buffer layer 14. The light absorbing layer 13 comprises a compound containing Cu, Zn, Sn, and at least one of S and Se. The buffer layer 14 comprises an n-type semiconductor material in which a difference between an ionization potential and a band gap energy is 3.2 to 3.6 eV inclusive. |
