The system separator (10) has a housing (11) defining an inlet chamber (14), an intermediate chamber (15) and an outlet chamber (16). The backflow preventers, particularly an inlet side backflow preventer (12) and an outlet side backflow preventer (13) are positioned in the housing and are connected one behind the another in flow direction of a medium. The inlet side backflow preventer is connected between the inlet chamber and the intermediate chamber and the outlet side backflow preventer is connected between the intermediate chamber and the outlet chamber. A discharge valve (17) ventilates the intermediate chamber. The pressure tapping valves (24,25) are inserted directly in the feed connection from the inlet chamber and the outlet chamber or from the inlet chamber and the intermediate chamber.
