PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of abnormal sounds due to the contact of an outside centering spring with a lever side outer ring during the operation of a lever. SOLUTION: This clutch unit includes a lever side clutch part controlling the transmission/interruption of rotation torque to/from the output side with the operation of the lever, and a brake side clutch part transmitting input toque from the lever side clutch part to the output side and interrupting reverse input torque from the output side. The lever side clutch part includes the outside centering spring 19 provided between the lever side outer ring rotated with the operation of the lever and a cover 24 constrained in rotation, for receiving the input torque from the lever side outer ring to accumulate elastic force and for releasing the input torque to restore the lever side outer ring into a neutral condition with the accumulated elastic force. The outside centering spring 19 is a C-shaped strip spring member. The cover 24 has an inclined portion 24g which abuts on the outside centering spring 19 to bulge to the outside centering spring 19 side. While the outside centering spring 19 assembled, the inner diameter of the outside centering spring 19 is arranged outside the outermost diameter of the inclined portion 24g of the cover 24.
