<p>1,038,142. Road traffic signs. W. E. CURRAN. Feb. 11, 1963 [April 13, 1962], No. 5399/63. Heading E1G. A road boundary marker has the general shape of three or more superposed concentric discs or similarly arranged polygonal slabs. Luminous and/or light reflective material d is applied to the edge b of each disc apart from the lowest one which carries a flange a<SP>1</SP> and is embedded in the road material. In an alternative form the flange a<SP>1</SP> is replaced by L-shaped lugs. The marker may be a solid block of concrete, rubber, plastics material, iron or steel or, as showing a steel pressing which may be filled with stone chippings and cement or with bitumen. The latter may be poured into the marker after it has been fixed in the road through a hole in the domed top c. Both the lugs and the flange may be omitted and a mushroom bolt inserted through the top hole.</p> |
